Set in the Scottish Highlands, Glenrothan follows Donal — after 35 years in Chicago he reluctantly returns home to reconcile with his estranged brother Sandy and take up the mantle of their family whisky distillery. Their reunion forces both men to confront long-buried family grievances and the legacy of the land and business they left behind.
Directed by Brian Cox in his feature-film debut and starring Cox alongside Alan Cumming, the film is described as a “love letter to Scotland” and delves into themes of homecoming, heritage and forgiveness.
